How we do it.

Every Idea Matters

As members of LGI we strive to do our best with our collective portfolio. During the weekly meetings, our members get together to give updates on current positions, share ideas, discuss on portfolio actions and share their presentations about interesting companies, commodities and alternative investments.

Pitches

Presentations are an important aspect of our meetings. We expect each of our members to contribute to our group by sharing their ideas and companies they find interesting with small presentations. After every presentation, a group discussion is held to decide whether or not we would like to move forward with the strategies/companies and how the portfolio can be allocated accordingly.

Using Data

We use various sources to obtain data on different industries and companies that we find interesting. FactSet is a program primarily used to conduct research on companies and value them using exclusive data.

Our Industry Expert Groups.

Five Groups within Liquid Gold Investments are spezialized on distinctive different industries. Furthermore, each of the Industry Expert Groups has a team leader, an experienced master student, who coordinates and leads the meetings, and guides and helps team members.

Every year we take part in the Flow Traders Investment Competition, competing against 45 other investment groups.  The performance of our portfolio, which determines the ranking in the competition, is recorded weekly by measuring the risk adjusted returns. The objective is to reach the highest risk adjusted return on the portfolios at the end of the competition, which usually takes place from November to the following July.
